Precision Investment Casting Recreates Antique Rifle
When Frank Wierus of Wisconsin registered the defunct Providence Tool Company and “Peabody” names to bring back the classic one-shot Peabody rifle, he called on the investment casting professionals at R2 Quality Castings.
The metal parts of the rifle needed to be perfectly reproduced. Since the molds for the Civil War-era rifle no longer existed, R2 Quality Castings needed to recreate the molds and manufacture identical parts for the antique weapon. Drawings and components were meticulously produced by our team of design engineers.
R2 Quality Castings’ team replicated the parts with precision investment casting. With an emphasis on quality control, the results were authentic parts which not only looked like the original, but also functioned accurately.
The key to success was precision investment castings by experienced and skilled professionals at R2 Quality Castings. With their diligent work, the classic Model 1862 .58 Caliber Percussion rifle came back to life, to the joy of antique rifle fans everywhere. Guns of The Old West took notice of the expertly restored guns and featured them in their publication, providing these beautiful pictures which perfectly capture the details of the historic weapon.
